Some good ideas. (1) Priest should not play politics. (2) Stop making statue and collecting money. (3) Stop abusing the saints including the mother Mary. Because you are making money. (4) Pray only to Lord Jesus Christ not many dead people.( 5) Allow the person to talk at the time of baptism I mean ask the permission (6) Stop asking money for Holy mass (7) Remove all statues from church. (8) Allow the priests to marry , so that those who wants to marry can lead family life and continue the service in the church (9) When giving Holy Eucharist to people the priest should say this is doing in memory of Lord Jesus Christ, I mean stop the theory Transubstantiation, (10) Teach people that the ever lasting life giving bred is Holy Spirit and The word God (12) Priest should teach people how to worship God. I mean stop reading the same book, same sentence every day. It is so boring!!!! (13) Allow the nuns and common people to preach Bible on Sundays in the church (14) Stop collecting money for sending human spirit to heaven (15) Take away all positions among priests I mean political and money etc. (16) Allow the associations of almaya in churches (17) Start counseling in church by nuns for ladies in church. Priests can council men, I mean stop kumbasarm. (18) Allow the people to go and study Bible to other churches. I mean Orthadox. Penthacost, Independent church , Yakobite, etc. Why you are afraid of them ? (19) Allow good Pastors to preach in the Catholic church. So that Catholic priests can go to other church and preach bible. Give your valuable service to other people. 
"There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope of your calling , one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all"( Ephesian 4:4,5). There is no Catholic faith, no Penthacost faith, no Protistan faith, no Jehovitness faith no etc.etc..... STOP separating people......work against evil people..... don't looks the church he or she belongs to......"The fear of the LORD is hatred of evil"( Proverbs 8:13)....

Mumbai: A retired bishop of Church of North India was among three people arrested for allegedly selling a defence land in Mumbai, western India.

The police’s Economic Offences Wing arrested Bishop Baiju Gavit, lawyer Rajnikand Salvi and his brother Shashikant Salvi on a complaint from Shapoorji Pallonji Group, a business conglomerate based in Mumbai, The Times of India reported today.

The police received a complaint from the business firm’s legal department alleging that the bishop and team sold a 4,266-sq-yard land on Hazarimal Somani Marg near Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminal for 55 million rupees.

The land, belonging to the Indian Defence, in 1953 was leased to the Bombay Diocesan Trust Association on a 99-year lease for 1 rupee a year. The plot houses a heritage structure.

According to the police, it was among several properties in Maharashtra that the Indian government leased out to the association for its educational and cultural activities.

Investigating officer C B Tatkare said no one can sell or buy such properties.

However, the Church team approached the construction company that the Defence had allowed them to redevelop it. They promised to submit necessary permission from defence and the charity commissioner.

The police said although the accused claimed to have sent all the documents to the defence ministry, investigations revealed they had not done so.

The builder wanted to put up a 33-storey building on the premises.

The developers approached the police after they failed to get a satisfactory document or reply.

The police have frozen two bank accounts belonging to the accused.

Bishop Gavit’s successor Bishop Prakash Patole was out of station and not available for comment.

But the secretary of the Maharashtra Council of Churches, Rev Victor Gollapally, said it was an unfortunate incident. "Church institutions are to be used for ecclesiastical, social, educational and health purposes and not to be sold," he said.

Incidentally, another group in the association had approached another builder to sell the same property.

The Shapoorji Pallonji Group is engaged in construction, real estate, textiles, engineering goods, shipping and biotechnology and other activities. The company built the Brabourne stadium in Mumbai and the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium in New Delhi.

Indian Christian Marriage Act, 1872

According to the Indian Christian Marriage Act, 1872 if the bride and the groom gives notice to the Parish Vicar of their intention to get married, the vicar, after properly notifying it and in the absence of valid impediments, should solemnise the marriage, failing which he is liable to penal action under the Act ibid. The General Canonas of the Thrissur Arch Dioces requires that the Vicars of the bride and the groom should exchange 'Kettu Kuri' after completing the required formalities. Common sense and natural law requires that any formality/obligation should be transparant and intelligible to the common man. These should not be arbitrary or capricious. If the Vicar takes an arbitrary dicision not to solemnise the marriage flouting the Canonas of the Church and the provisions of the Marriage Act, the action of the priest can be challenged in a court of law for appropriate remedy. If the Vicar is doing this for extorting money from the interested persons, the act amounts to 'extortion' under Section 383 of the Indian Penal Code. "Whoever intentionally puts any person in fear of any injury to that person, or to any other, and thereby dishonestly induces the person so put in fear to deliver to any property or valuable security, or anything signed or sealed which may be converted into a valuable security, commits "extortion". This is punishable under Section 384 of the IPC (RI for 3 years & fine). Civil court can also be approached for appropriate compensation for mental agony. The parties can approach the Arch Bishop/Major Arch Bishop, but do'nt expect much from them, because they also belong to the same catogory and may manifest the 'teritorial ego'. Many of the catholic priests in Kerala are pshysic perverts because they stay in the unmarried state against their will. They entertain jelousy towards boys and girls who are lucky to get married. To cure this desease, the Major Arch Bishop should lift the compulsory clerical celibacy as is in the Ukranian Catholic Church. The legal community, social activists, Canon Law experts, enlightened liaty and the right thinking clergy should make this a point for discussion. The boys and girls intending for marriage should not be left to the whims, caprices and fancies of perverted clergy. "Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” (Mark 10:9)

(ഒരു വര്‍ഷം തടവ് ശിക്ഷ ലഭിക്കാവുന്ന കുറ്റമാണിത്) മരിച്ച പൗലോസിന്റെ ഇളയസഹോദരന്‍ സണ്ണി, കേരള കാത്തലിക് ഫെഡറേഷന്‍ ജനറല്‍ സെക്രട്ടറി വി.കെ. ജോയി എന്നിവരുടെ പരാതിയെ തുടര്‍ന്നാണ് കേസെടുത്തത്. ഇതു സംബന്ധിച്ച് വെള്ളിക്കുളങ്ങര പോലീസ് സബ്ബ് ഇന്‍സ്‌പെക്ടര്‍ എം.ഐ. ബേബി ചാലക്കുടി മജിസ്‌ട്രേട്ട് കോടതിയില്‍ സമര്‍പ്പിച്ച എഫ്.ഐ.ആര്‍-ല്‍ ഇങ്ങനെ പറയുന്നു. ഗൂഡല്ലൂരില്‍ താമസിച്ച് ഭൂമി പാട്ടത്തിനെടുത്ത് കൃഷി നടത്തിയിരുന്ന പൗലോസ് ഷെഡിന് തീപിടിച്ച് 24-02-2012ന് മരണപ്പെട്ട വിവരം അറിഞ്ഞപ്പോള്‍തന്നെ വീട്ടുകാര്‍ വികാരിയച്ചനെ വിവരം അറിയിക്കുകയും മൃതദേഹം തറവാട്ടില്‍ കൊണ്ടുവന്ന് ഇവിടെ സംസ്‌കരിക്കാന്‍ എന്തെങ്കിലും നിയമതടസ്സമുണ്ടോയെന്ന് അന്വേഷിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ വികാരി നിര്‍ദ്ദേശിച്ചത് ഗൂഡല്ലൂരിലെ പള്ളി വികാരിയുടെ കത്തും പോലീസ് പോസ്റ്റ്‌മോര്‍ട്ടം സര്‍ട്ടിഫിക്കറ്റും അടക്കം മൃതദേഹം കൊണ്ടുവന്നാല്‍ മതിയെന്നാണ്. അതനുസരിച്ച് 25-ാം തിയ്യതി വെളുപ്പിന് മൃതദേഹം തറവാട്ടുവീട്ടില്‍ കൊണ്ടുവരികയും വെളുപ്പിന് 5.30നുതന്നെ മേല്‍പറഞ്ഞ സര്‍ട്ടിഫിക്കറ്റുകള്‍ അച്ചന് നല്‍കുകയും അച്ചനത് വായിച്ചു നോക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. എന്നാല്‍ പിന്നീട് വികാരി നിലപാട് മാറ്റിയതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് പരേതന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരായ സണ്ണി, ജോസ്, റപ്പായി, ജോണ്‍സണ്‍, അയല്‍ക്കാരനായ പയ്യപ്പിള്ളി ജോസഫ് എന്നിവര്‍ വികാരിയുടെ കത്തുമായി ഇരിങ്ങാലക്കുട ബിഷപ്പിനെ കണ്ട് പരാതി പറഞ്ഞപ്പോള്‍ ബിഷപ്പ് അച്ചന്മാരാരും ശവസംസ്‌കാരത്തിന് വരില്ലെന്നറിയിച്ചു. സഹോദരന്റെ അപകടമരണത്തെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് കരിഞ്ഞ് വികൃതമായ ശവത്തിന്റെ അടക്കത്തിനായി സമീപിച്ച ദുഃഖാര്‍ത്തരായ സഹോദരന്മാരോട് ഒരു കരുണയും കാണിക്കാതെ ഏഴാം ചരമദിനം ഗംഭീരമായി നടത്താം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ് ബിഷപ്പ് കളിയാക്കുകയാണ് ചെയ്തത്. (പരേതന്‍ ഭാര്യയും കുട്ടികളും സഹിതം ഗൂഡല്ലൂരിലാണ് താമസിക്കുന്നതെങ്കിലും ഇടയ്ക്ക് ഇവിടെ വരാറുള്ളതും ഇവിടത്തെ കുടുംബരജിസ്റ്ററില്‍ പേര് നിലവിലുള്ളതുമാണ്. പരേതന്റെ മകന്‍ ബുദ്ധിമാന്ദ്യംഉള്ളയാളുമാണ്.)

ശവസംസ്‌കാര യാത്ര 1.30ന് പള്ളിയിലെത്തിയപ്പോള്‍ വികാരിയച്ചന്‍ മൃതദേഹത്തോട് മനപ്പൂര്‍വ്വം അനാദരവും അവഹേളനവും കാണിച്ച് പള്ളിയുടെ എല്ലാ വാതിലുകളും പൂട്ടി പുറത്ത് പോയി. വിശ്വാസികള്‍ പള്ളിയുടെ മുമ്പില്‍ ശവമഞ്ചം കിടത്തി അച്ചനുവേണ്ടി കാത്തിരുന്നുവെങ്കിലും, അച്ചന്‍ മറ്റാരേയും ചുമതലപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടില്ലെന്ന് മനസ്സിലായപ്പോള്‍ വിശ്വാസികള്‍തന്നെ ശവം കല്ലറയില്‍ വെച്ച് സ്ലാബിട്ട് മൂടുകയാണ് ചെയ്തത്. കത്തോലിക്ക സഭയുടെ ചരിത്രത്തിലെ ആദ്യത്തെ സംഭവമാണ് ഒരു കത്തോലിക്കാബിഷപ്പിനെതിരെ ഐ.പി.സി. 297 വകുപ്പനുസരിച്ച് കേസ്സെടുക്കുന്നത്.

ഞാറയ്ക്കല്‍ കന്യാസ്ത്രീകളെ ശാരീരികമായി പീഡിപ്പിച്ച് അവരുടെ സ്‌കൂള്‍ തട്ടിയെടുക്കാന്‍ ശ്രമിച്ച സംഭവത്തില്‍ എറണാകുളം ബിഷപ്പ് തോമസ് ചാക്യാത്തിനും, വികാരിക്കും, ഫാ. ബിജു കിലുക്കനും, ഫാ. ചിറപ്പണത്തിനും, 5 അക്രമികള്‍ക്കും, മട്ടാഞ്ചേരി കോടതി വധശ്രമത്തിന് കേസ്സെടുത്ത് സമന്‍സ് അയച്ചിരിക്കുകയാണെന്ന് ചൂണ്ടിക്കാണിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. പ്രായപൂര്‍ത്തിയാകാത്ത 15 വയസ്സുകാരെ സന്യാസത്തിന് നിര്‍ബ്ബന്ധിക്കുന്ന ദൈവവിളി ക്യാമ്പുകള്‍ക്കെതിരെ മനുഷ്യാവകാശ കമ്മീഷന്‍ തൃശൂര്‍ ബിഷപ്പിന് നോട്ടീസ് അയക്കാനും ഉത്തരവായിരിക്കുകയാണ്. പാവര്‍ട്ടി പള്ളിയോടനുബന്ധിച്ചുള്ള സാന്റ് ജോസ് പാരിഷ് ഹോസ്പിറ്റല്‍ നേഴ്‌സിംഗ് വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥിനി ജീസാമോളുടെ ദുരൂഹമരണം സി.ബി.ഐ. അന്വേഷിക്കാന്‍ കേരള ഹൈക്കോടതി ഉത്തരവായിരിക്കുകയാണ്. മുന്‍ പാവര്‍ട്ടി പള്ളി വികാരി ഫാ. പോള്‍ പയ്യപ്പിള്ളിക്കെതിരെയാണ് ആക്ഷന്‍ കൗണ്‍സില്‍ വിരല്‍ ചൂണ്ടുന്നത്. കൂട്ടുനിന്നത് മൂന്ന് കന്യാസ്ത്രീകളാണ്.

പുളിങ്കര സംഭവത്തില്‍ കൂട്ടാട്ടി സണ്ണിയുടെ അദ്ധ്യക്ഷതയില്‍ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ വസതിയില്‍ ചേര്‍ന്ന വിശ്വാസികളുടെ യോഗം ശക്തമായ പ്രതിഷേധം പ്രകടിപ്പിച്ചു. ജോയിന്റ് ക്രിസ്ത്യന്‍ കൗണ്‍സില്‍ സംസ്ഥാന വൈസ് പ്രസിഡണ്ട് ആന്റോ കോക്കാട്ട്, കേരള കാത്തലിക് ഫെഡറേഷന്‍ ജനറല്‍ സെക്രട്ടറി വി.കെ. ജോയി, വി.എ. ജോണ്‍സണ്‍ എന്നിവര്‍ പ്രസംഗിച്ചു. മേല്‍നടപടികള്‍ക്കായി ബിജു കൂട്ടാട്ടി, ഷിജു ചില്ലായി, സാബു പരിയാടന്‍, വര്‍ഗ്ഗീസ് കൂട്ടാട്ടി എന്നിവര്‍ ഭാരവാഹികളായി ആക്ഷന്‍ കമ്മിറ്റി രൂപീകരിക്കുകയും സംഭവത്തില്‍ പ്രതിഷേധിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് പഞ്ചായത്ത് ഓഫീസിലേക്കും രൂപതാ ആസ്ഥാനത്തേക്കും മാര്‍ച്ച് നടത്താനും തീരുമാനിച്ചു.

1996ല്‍ കുറവിലങ്ങാട് ഇടവകയില്‍ ഡി.സി.സി. സെക്രട്ടറിയും യൂണിവേഴ്‌സിറ്റി സെനറ്റ് മെമ്പറുമായിരുന്ന വി.കെ. കുരിയന്റെ മൃതദേഹം സഭാപരമായി മറവ് ചെയ്യാന്‍ വിസമ്മതിച്ച പാലാ രൂപതക്ക് സിവില്‍ കോടതി രണ്ടേകാല്‍ ലക്ഷം രൂപ നഷ്ടപരിഹാരം വിധിച്ചു.

19-08-2007ല്‍ കൊച്ചി സാന്‍തോം ഇടവകാംഗം വികലാംഗനും, മാര്‍പ്പാപ്പ വന്നപ്പോള്‍ പാപ്പായില്‍നിന്ന് ദിവ്യകാരുണ്യം സ്വീകരിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളതുമായ ചെലവന ജോസഫിന്റെ മൃതദേഹം പള്ളി സിമിത്തേരിയില്‍ അടക്കം ചെയ്യാന്‍ വിസമ്മതിച്ച വികാരി ഫാ. ജോപ്പി തോട്ടുങ്കലിന് കോടതിവിധിയെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് പൊതുശ്മശാനത്തില്‍നിന്ന് ശവം പുറത്തെടുത്ത് മതാചാരപ്രകാരം പള്ളി സിമിത്തേരിയില്‍ സംസ്‌കരിക്കേണ്ടിവരികയും 50,000 രൂപ നഷ്ടപരിഹാരം കൊടുക്കേണ്ടിവരികയും ചെയ്തു. ആ ശവമെടുപ്പ് യാത്ര നാം ചാനലുകളില്‍ കണ്ടതാണ്. പരേതന്‍ പെന്തിക്കോസ്ത് സഭയില്‍ ചേര്‍ന്നിരുന്നു എന്നാണ് സഭ കോടതിയില്‍ വാദിച്ചത്. എന്നാല്‍ കോടതി ആ വാദം അംഗീകരിക്കാതെ സഭാപരമായ മരിച്ചടക്ക് അനുവദിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.

10-01-2011ല്‍ മരാമണ്‍ സെന്റ് ജോസഫ് ഇടവകയില്‍ ആദംകോട്ട് എ.ജെ. മത്തായിയുടെ മകന്‍ എ.എം. രാജന്‍ എന്ന ദളിത് യുവാവിന്റെ മൃതദേഹം സഭാപരമായി അടക്കം ചെയ്യാന്‍ വികാരി വിസമ്മതിച്ചതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് 10 ദിവസം മൃതദേഹം മോര്‍ച്ചറിയില്‍ സൂക്ഷിച്ച് ദളിത് ക്രിസ്ത്യന്‍ ഫെഡറേഷന്‍ ഓഫ് ഇന്‍ഡ്യയും ജോയിന്റ് ക്രിസ്ത്യന്‍ കൗണ്‍സിലും പ്രക്ഷോഭം നടത്തിയതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് വിജയപുരം രൂപതക്ക് സഭാപരമായ മരിച്ചടക്കിന് വഴങ്ങേണ്ടി വന്നു.

05-01-2012ല്‍ പാലായിലെ മാനത്തൂര്‍ സെന്റ് മേരീസ് പള്ളി ഇടവകാംഗമായ കല്ലുവെട്ടത്ത് കുട്ടപ്പന്‍ (തോമസ് വര്‍ക്കി) എന്ന ദളിത് ക്രൈസ്തവന് സഭാപരമായ ശവമടക്ക് നിഷേധിച്ചതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് ജോയിന്റ് ക്രിസ്ത്യന്‍ കൗണ്‍സില്‍ പ്രക്ഷോഭം ആരംഭിക്കുകയും നഷ്ടപരിഹാരമായി വീടില്ലാത്ത ആ സാധു കുടുംബത്തിന് വീട് പണിതു കൊടുക്കുന്നതുള്‍പ്പടെയുള്ള നഷ്ടപരിഹാരത്തിന്റെ കാര്യത്തില്‍ ശ്രമങ്ങള്‍ നടക്കുകയാണ്.

11-07-2010ല്‍ തൃശൂരിലെ കാച്ചേരി ഇടവകയില്‍ ചക്കാലക്കല്‍ ജോസ് മകന്‍ ബിജു (35) മരിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ ആ ശവശരീരം പള്ളി സെമിത്തേരിയില്‍ മറവു ചെയ്യാന്‍ വികാരി ഫാ. സെബി ചിറ്റാട്ടുകര വിസമ്മതിച്ചതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് ലാലൂര്‍ മുനിസിപ്പല്‍ പൊതുശ്മശാനത്തില്‍ അടക്കി ബന്ധുക്കള്‍ അവിടെ കുരിശ് സ്ഥാപിക്കുകയുണ്ടായി. പിന്നീട് വിവരം അറിഞ്ഞപ്പോള്‍ കേരള കാത്തലിക് ഫെഡറേഷന്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ പരേതന്റെ വീട്ടിലെത്തി ഇതു സംബന്ധമായി അധികാരികള്‍ക്ക് പരാതി നല്‍കുവാന്‍ പ്രേരിപ്പിച്ചെങ്കിലും, പള്ളി അധികാരികളെ ഭയന്ന് പരേതന്റെ ബന്ധുക്കള്‍ അതില്‍നിന്നും പിന്‍മാറി. ഇത്തരം പാവപ്പെട്ടവരുടെ ശവശരീരം പള്ളിക്ക് വേണ്ട. എന്നാല്‍ പരേതനായ മത്തായി ചാക്കോ എം.എല്‍.എ.യേപോലുള്ളവരുടെ ശവശരീരം ഇവര്‍ക്ക് വേണം!

വിശ്വാസികളുടെ മൃതദേഹത്തോടുള്ള അനാദരവും വിശ്വാസിപീഢനവും സഭയുടെ ഭാഗത്തുനിന്ന് കേരളത്തില്‍ എവിടെയുണ്ടായാലും ജോയിന്റ് ക്രിസ്ത്യന്‍ കൗണ്‍സിലും അതിലെ ഘടക സംഘടനകളും അതിലിടപെട്ട് വിശ്വാസികളുടെ പക്ഷത്ത് ചേര്‍ന്ന് പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുമെന്നും നിയമനടപടികള്‍ക്ക് വേണ്ടസഹായസഹകരണങ്ങള്‍ ചെയ്യുമെന്നും അറിയിക്കുവാന്‍ ഈ അവസരം വിനിയോഗിക്കട്ടെ.

സ്വതന്ത്ര സഭാസംഘടനകള്‍ PART- I

സഭാനവീകരണവും സ്വതന്ത്ര സഭാസംഘടനകളും PART-I

[കേരള കത്തോലിക്കാ സഭാനവീകരണപ്രസ്ഥാനം 2012 ഫെബ്രുവരി 25-ന് പാലായില്‍ നടത്തിയ സെമിനാറില്‍ അവതരിപ്പിച്ച ഈ പ്രബന്ധം, മൂന്നു ഭാഗങ്ങളായി പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്നു.]

കത്തോലിക്കാസഭയെ നവീകരിക്കണം എന്ന ആശയം സഭയ്ക്ക് മുമ്പാകെ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചത് 1959 ജനുവരി 25-ന് അന്ന് സഭയെ ഭരിച്ചിരുന്ന 23-ാം യോഹന്നാന്‍ പാപ്പയാണ്. ദൈവാരൂപിയുടെ നിവേശനത്തിലൂടെയാണ് ഈ ആശയം തനിക്കുണ്ടായതെന്ന്, അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ സ്ലൈഹിക ലേഖനത്തിലൂടെ ഔദ്യോഗികമായി അറിയിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. ('Superno Dei Nuntu', June 5,1960 ) സഭയെ അധുനാധുനീകരിക്കുക, എന്ന രണ്ടു വാക്കുകളിലൂടെ തിരുസഭയുടെ സര്‍വ്വതോന്മുഖമായ നവീകരണമാണ് അദ്ദേഹം ലക്ഷ്യംവച്ചത്. ഈ നവീകരണ ലക്ഷ്യം പ്രസ്പഷ്ടമാക്കിക്കൊണ്ടുള്ള പ്രസംഗത്തിലൂടെ 1962 ഒക്‌ടോബര്‍ 11 ന് രണ്ടാം വത്തിക്കാന്‍ കൗണ്‍സില്‍ മാര്‍പ്പാപ്പ ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്തു. 

നവീകരണവും സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യവും

'സഭ ആധുനികയുഗത്തില്‍' എന്ന രണ്ടാം വത്തിക്കാന്‍ കൗണ്‍സിലിന്റെ പ്രമാണരേഖ No.17-ല്‍ സഭാനവീകരണത്തില്‍ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിന്റെ പ്രാധാന്യത്തെപ്പറ്റി പ്രതിപാദിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ഈ കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ നാം പ്രത്യേകം ശ്രദ്ധിക്കേണ്ടതും ചര്‍ച്ച ചെയ്യേണ്ടതുമാണ്: ''സ്വതന്ത്രമായ അവസ്ഥയില്‍ മാത്രമേ നന്മയിലേക്ക് തന്നെത്തന്നെ തിരിക്കാന്‍ (നവീകരിക്കാന്‍) മനുഷ്യന് കഴിയുകയുളളൂ. നമ്മുടെ സമകാലികര്‍ ഈ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം വിലമതിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. മനുഷ്യനിലുള്ള ദൈവികഛായയുടെ ഒരടയാളമാണ് നന്മയെ സ്വീകരിക്കാനും, നന്മയിലേക്ക് സ്വയം തിരിയാനുമുള്ള ഈ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം. കാരണം, സ്വന്തം തീരുമാനങ്ങളുടെ നിയന്ത്രണത്തില്‍ മനുഷ്യന്‍ വ്യാപരിക്കണമെന്നാണ് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അഭീഷ്ടം. എങ്കില്‍ മാത്രമേ തന്റെ സൃഷ്ടാവിനെ സ്വമേധയാ അന്വേഷിക്കാനും, സ്രഷ്ടാവായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പൂര്‍ണ്ണതയിലേക്ക് സ്വതന്ത്രമായി വളരാനും മനുഷ്യന് കഴിയുകയുള്ളൂ. അതുകൊണ്ട് സ്വതന്ത്രബുദ്ധി ഉപയോഗിച്ച് സ്വതന്ത്രമായ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിലൂടെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കാനും കര്‍മ്മ പരിപാടികളും മാര്‍ഗങ്ങളും സ്വീകരിക്കാനും മനുഷ്യന്റെ വ്യക്തിമാഹാത്മ്യം ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നുണ്ട്. അപ്രകാരം സ്വതന്ത്രമായി വളര്‍ന്ന് ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തുമ്പോള്‍, മനുഷ്യന്‍ തന്റെ മഹാത്മ്യം നേടിയെടുത്തു എന്ന സന്തോഷവും സമാധാനവും ആത്മസംതൃപ്തിയും അവന് ലഭിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും. ഇത് ക്രിസ്തീയ ദൈവവിളിയുടെ സമുന്നതമായ ഒരു അവസ്ഥയാണ്. ഈ ലക്ഷ്യം വച്ചു കൊണ്ടുള്ള സ്വതന്ത്രമായ നവീകരണമാണ് സഭയിലുണ്ടാകേണ്ടത്. ദൈവമക്കളായ ക്രൈസ്തവര്‍ക്ക് പിതാവിന്റെ ഭവനത്തിലുള്ള സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യമാണത്. തന്മൂലം സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം ക്രൈസ്തവജീവിതത്തില്‍ അടിസ്ഥാനപ്രാധാന്യമര്‍ഹിക്കുന്നു.''' (G. 5.No-17). 

വി. പൗലോസ് അപ്പസ്‌തോലന്‍ പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നു: ''സഹോദരരേ, നിങ്ങള്‍ വിളിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നത് സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിലേക്കാണ്' (ഗാലാ. 5:1). ഈ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തില്‍ നിങ്ങളെ നയിക്കേണ്ടത് ദൈവാത്മാവായിരിക്കണമെന്നും, അപ്രകാരം ദൈവാത്മാവില്‍ സ്വതന്ത്രരായി നയിക്കപ്പെടുന്നവര്‍, ന്യായ പ്രമാണത്തിന് പോലും അതീതരാണെന്നുമാണ് പൗലോസ് പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്(ഗാലാ. 5-18). അതുകൊണ്ടാണ് സെന്റ് തോമസ് അക്വീനോസ് ഇപ്രകാരം പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നത്; ''സ്വതന്ത്രമനസ്സില്ലാതെ നമുക്ക് ദൈവം നല്‍കിയ സ്‌നേഹത്തിന്റെ കല്പന പോലും പാലിക്കാനാകില്ല.'''(Summa Theologica11:11).

കൗണ്‍സിലിന്റെ 'അല്മായപ്രേഷിതത്വം' എന്ന പ്രമാണരേഖ No.7-ല്‍ ഇപ്രകാരം പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നു: ''ഭൗതികമണ്ഡലത്തിന്റെ നവീകരണം സ്വന്ത ചുമതലയായി അത്മായര്‍ ഏറ്റെടുക്കണം. സുവിശേഷവും സഭയുടെ പ്രബോധനവും ഇതിനവരെ സഹായിക്കണം. ക്രിസ്തീയ സാഹോദര്യം അവര്‍ക്ക് പ്രചോദനമരുളണം; വ്യവസ്ഥാപിതമാര്‍ഗ്ഗങ്ങളിലൂടെ അവര്‍ നേരിട്ട് പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കണം. സ്വന്തം കഴിവുകളും ഉത്തരവാദിത്വങ്ങളും ബലികഴിക്കാതെ, പൗരന്മാരെന്ന നിലയില്‍ അവര്‍ മറ്റുള്ളവരോട് സഹകരിക്കണം. ഇത്തരം പ്രേഷിതപ്രവൃത്തികളില്‍ ക്രിസ്തീയ സാമൂഹിക പ്രവര്‍ത്തനം (ക്രിസ്തീയ സമൂഹ നവീകരണം) ഉന്നതസ്ഥാനമര്‍ഹിക്കുന്നു. ഇത്തരമൊരു നവീകരണ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനം എല്ലാ തലങ്ങളിലും ഉണ്ടായിക്കാണാന്‍ സൂനഹദോസ് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു.'' 'തിരുസ്സഭ'' എന്ന ഡിക്രി നമ്പര്‍ 30-37 -ല്‍ രണ്ടാം വത്തിക്കാന്‍ കൗണ്‍സില്‍ ഇപ്രകാരം പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു: ''സത്യത്തിന്റെയും നീതിയുടേയും സ്‌നേഹത്തിന്റെയും സമാധാനത്തിന്റേതുമായ ദൈവരാജ്യം അല്മായരിലൂടെ വിസ്തൃതമാക്കാന്‍ ക്രിസ്തു ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു. ദൈവപുത്രന്മാര്‍ക്കും ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ സഹോദരങ്ങള്‍ക്കും യോജിച്ച സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തോടും മനോവിശ്വാസത്തോടുംകൂടി അല്മായര്‍ തങ്ങളുടെ ആവശ്യങ്ങളും അഭിലാഷങ്ങളും അഭിപ്രായങ്ങളും സഭയുടെ അജപാലകരെ അറിയിക്കണം, നല്ല അറിവും കാര്യക്ഷമതയും അസാമാന്യ സാമര്‍ത്ഥ്യവുമുള്ള അല്‍മായര്‍ക്ക് സഭയെ സംബന്ധിക്കുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങളെപ്പറ്റി സ്വന്തമായ അഭിപ്രായം പറയാന്‍ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യവും കടമയുമുണ്ട്.''

'അല്മായപ്രേഷിതത്വം' എന്ന ഡിക്രിയിലൂടെ വത്തിക്കാന്‍ കൗണ്‍സില്‍ പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നതിപ്രകാരം: ''അല്മായര്‍ തങ്ങളുടെ വ്യക്തിപരവും സാമൂഹ്യവും സാര്‍വ്വലൗകികവും സഭാപരവുമായ പ്രശ്‌നങ്ങളും ആവശ്യങ്ങളും ചര്‍ച്ച ചെയ്ത് പരിഹാരം കണ്ടെത്തേണ്ടതാണ്. ഈ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനം സ്വന്ത ഇടവകയില്‍ മാത്രമല്ല, മറ്റ് ഇടവകകളിലേക്കും രൂപതകളിലേക്കും ദേശീയതലത്തിലും അന്തര്‍ദേശീയ തലത്തിലും വ്യാപിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്''( No.10).

സ്വതന്ത്രസംഘടനകളും സഭാനവീകരണവും 

'അല്മായപ്രേഷിതത്വം' No.18-22 ല്‍ ഇപ്രകാരം പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു: ''സഭയുടെ നവീകരണത്തിനുവേണ്ടി സ്വതന്ത്രമായി സംഘടിച്ച് കൊണ്ടുള്ള അല്‍മായരുടെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനം ക്രിസ്തീയവും മാനുഷികവുമായ ആവശ്യമാണ്. ഇതിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനം യേശുവിന്റെ പ്രബോധനത്തില്‍ കാണാനാകും: ''എന്റെ നാമത്തില്‍ രണ്ടോ മൂന്നോ പേര്‍ ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടുമ്പോള്‍ അവരുടെ മദ്ധ്യത്തില്‍ ഞാനുണ്ടായിരിക്കും'''(മത്താ.18:20). ''നിങ്ങളില്‍ രണ്ടുപേര്‍ യോജിച്ച് ചോദിക്കുന്ന ഏത് കാര്യവും സ്വര്‍ഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ പിതാവ് നിറവേറ്റിത്തരും'' (മത്താ. 18:19). തന്മൂലം ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ സഭയുടെ ഐക്യത്തെയാണ് ഇത്തരം സംഘടനകള്‍ സാക്ഷ്യം വഹിക്കുന്നത്. അതുകൊണ്ട് സംഘടനകള്‍ സ്ഥാപിച്ച് നടത്താനുള്ള അവകാശം അല്‍മായര്‍ക്കുണ്ട്. സഭാധികാരികള്‍ സന്തോഷത്തോടും കൃതജ്ഞതയോടും കൂടി ഈ സംഘടനകളേയും അവയില്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്ന അല്‍മായരേയും സ്വാഗതം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതാണ്.'കത്തോലിക്കാപ്രവര്‍ത്ത നം'എന്ന പേരിലോ, മറ്റേതെങ്കിലും പേരിലോ അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ഇത്തരം സംഘടനകള്‍ നമ്മുടെ കാലഘട്ടത്തില്‍ വിലയേറിയ പ്രേഷിതപ്രവര്‍ത്തിയാണ് നിര്‍വഹിക്കുന്നത്. അത്തരം സംഘടനകളെ വൈദികരും സന്യാസികളും, അല്‍മായരും കാര്യമായി കരുതുകയും പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യേണ്ടതാണ്. ഇത്തരം സംഘടനാപ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ക്കായി സമര്‍പ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന അല്‍മായര്‍ സഭയില്‍ പ്രത്യേക ബഹുമതിയും അഭിനന്ദനവും അര്‍ഹിക്കുന്നവരാണ്.'' പോര്‍ത്തുഗീസ് ഭരണ വ്യവസ്ഥയിലൂടെ കത്തോലിക്കാമതം കയ്യേറ്റം നടത്തിയപ്പോള്‍ കേരളത്തിലെ പരമ്പരാഗത ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികളില്‍നിന്നുണ്ടായ ചെറുത്തുനില്പിനെ കുറിച്ച് പുലിക്കുന്നേല്‍ വിവരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ അത് നമ്മെ ആവേശഭരിതരാക്കുന്നു. ജോസഫ് പുലിക്കുന്നേലിന്റെ മാര്‍ച്ച് 11 ലെ 'ഇന്ത്യ ക്രൈസ്തവരോട് അനീതി ചെയ്യുകയാണ്' എന്ന ഈടുറ്റ ലേഖനം പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കാന്‍ സധൈര്യം മുന്നോട്ട് വന്ന മാതൃഭൂമി (ആഴ്ച്ചപ്പതിപ്പ്) ക്കും, ധീരമായും ആത്മാര്‍ത്തമായും അഭിപ്രായം പ്രകടിപ്പിച്ച ശ്രീ. രാമചന്ദ്രനും, (കടവന്ത്ര, കൊച്ചി) നന്ദി. എക്കാലവും ക്രൈസ്തവര്‍ മാതൃഭൂമിയോട് നന്ദിയും കടപ്പാടുള്ളവരുമായിരിക്കും.
